American Drentsche Patrijshond Association

Over the past six months, we have been working with a fantastic group of Drentsche Patrijshond enthusiasts to establish the American Drentsche Patrijshond Association (ADPA), and it’s finally live! Meliora Drentsche Patrijshonden is proud to be a founding & charter member of the ADPA.

The ADPA’s vision is to build a community of Drentsche Patrijshond fanciers who come together to celebrate, promote, preserve, and advance the breed through education and mentorship, continuous improvement of thoughtful breeding practices, and enjoyable community events and exhibitions.

Our intent with the ADPA is to help radically change the trajectory of this breed in the United States and beyond, preserving this beautiful and functional piece of history for others to enjoy as we have. The ADPA takes lessons learned from the old domestic Drent-focused organization and combines it with a clean slate for a fresh take on what a “dog club” can look like, and how it can benefit the breed and it’s community.

The ADPA welcomes all individuals who share our vision, whether Drent owners or not. There are tons of ways to support – join the ADPA as a member, donate, follow the ADPA on Facebook or Instagram, and/or join the Facebook group, to name a few. There will be merch available soon, too, so follow the ADPA and keep your eyes peeled!
