I have been horribly delinquent on keeping the blog updated with our Scent Work trials of 2024, but fear not, we have certainly been busy with them! Especially the first half of the year to finish off Iris’s Scent Work Master Overall title.
If you’ve been following us on Facebook and/or Instagram, you’ll have already seen all of these updates, but I decided I should also collect them all here and add a few more tidbits.

Iris’s first attempt at a Detective search was at this trial. We unfortunately did not qualify, but it was a huge learning experience for me in how to manage a large search area in a short amount of time!

This was also Iris and I’s second attempt at a Detective search. Another NQ, but we were very close to qualifying. We had learned since our first and had a few more lessons to apply to our next. Sure enough…

SWRCSD Trial – November 2024
At this trial, Iris earned her third Detective qualifying score, and also placed Second! She also began chipping away at her Scent Work Container and Buried Master Elite titles, with two Second place Master Container searches and a Sixth place Master Buried search.
Conclusion
Now that we’re chipping away at the Scent Work Detective title, we have slowed down a bit in the number of trials we enter, to give us more time to work on other things, too, like rally, obedience, and field work, as well as our first litter of puppies planned for spring of 2025.
